Steps to successfully move Master Database to External Hard Drive

Hi all,

I am sourcing my tracks via iTunes (External Hard Drive) in Rekorbox, importing and then adding cues, loops etc.

I noticed on the Pioneer DJ page that you can move the Master Database to an external hard drive. I presume this means that if for whatever reason your original laptop dies, or you use another laptop for organising, you can always retrieve the original saved Rekordbox files (with your cues, loops etc) and that once you plug your external hard drive to this new computer, it will also read the tracks from the correct location.

If the above is correct and makes sense, could someone please reply with the step by step guide to doing this.

Thanks for your support. Have lost lots of previous work before and would hate to face the same headache :)

Very best,

Mike

Simply go to preferences and point the master database location to the same drive as the source of your master audio collection; DO NOT put it on an export drive.

Super easy and just takes a few minutes.

My recommendation is on your second computer, to delete the database and start with a blank, then point to the external drive and have it it will then load your external database.
