Midi Mapping question

Is there a way to Map the Rev light out

I can control / Map the Reverse button but is the Light also mapable?

The switch itself is mapped to Ch01.Note.A1 but unfortunatly the reverse light is not.

@Michael > What are your trying to map it to? I don't think it is possible to map the light.

The reverse switch is mapped to the new Flux mode. I like to have a visual confirmation that Flux is on.

I have it mapped via the Traktor mapping and I can select the reverse light within the traktor CDJ 2000 mapping as an lights out object. So yes it is working but I rather have it as a midi mapping instead of within the traktor CDJ 2000. I noticed that if I use other CDJ's e.g. in a club it sometimes recreates those mappings and removes all customization. So I rather have these commands in a general midi mapping.

Btw is there a complete list of mapable midi messages because there is obviously much more possible then the few midi messages within the Manual. Non of the led / light out messages are listed in the CDj manual.

Bumping this Q, any news on an updated midi mapable overview, especially the lights out.

The reverse light is mappable, I have mine mapped for the Flux effect.

Had to map it to the reverse LED cause NI forgot to map the Slip button LED.

You need to choose "Add Out":  Deck Common -> Flux Mode On

Then go to the "Device Mapping" Section and click on the drop down box right beside the "learn" button.

From there choose "Reverse".

@Fresh, I have everything mapped using the traktor cdj2000 mapping. However I would like to map it via a general MIDI mapping but there is no list of those midi out commands available.

Ok, I follow you.

Two options:

Duplicate the Map

The easiest is to just duplicate the standard Traktor CDJ-2000 mapping, this is what I did.

After duplicating it, rename it as a personal mapping and then save it (export it) to a separate folder on your computer.

This way your working with a TSI completely separate from the standard CDJ-2000 map.

It also allows you to save/ export your mapping changes, so you can recall any previously saved maps.

*Duplicate and Rename are in the Device Setup section at the top under Edit.

Once you have created a duplicate map to work with, you can either delete the standard map or just turn off the In/Out ports so it is no longer active.

Now when you open Traktor it will use your personal map.

When playig out, you just need to make sure that your personal map is listed and active via midi ports.

If Traktor happens to reimport the standard mapping just delete it.

Option Two:

Mapping the Midi messages

Since Pioneer has not provided all the CDJ-2000 midi messages you will have to do an online search for this info.

I would recommend the Traktor forums and the DJ TechTools site.

DJ TechTools is excellent for this kind of stuff, they even have a CDJ section in their forum.

I may take a look for this as well if I have time.
