Guys, i would be extremely grateful if some1 could please get back to us on this!
Thanks!
Good afternoon all,
I am new to the forum and was just looking for some advice.
On Saturday we'll be playing at a local summer festival where we will be using CDJ2000's. On this occasions we are going to play our tracks via USB's instead of using our laptop and serato, and also for a change!!
I have a couple of questions I would like complete clarity/advice on:
I have been reading about ppl putting tracks onto USB's via Rekordbox however we just store all of the tracks on the macbook therefore I am assuming that a simple drag and drop onto the NEW USB should allow us to plug in and play directly from the CDJ's?
Is there anything else I need to know cosidering that this will be the 1st time we shall be playing using USB's on CDJ2000's.
We would be extremely grateful for your responses.
Thanks guys

that will work fine, you will be browsing though in a folder view and when you load tracks there will be no waveform and the bpm may take a little to show up being none of the tracks have been analyzed through RB and exported
yes, but same issue as 1 with no waveform or instant bpm
not really, just browse to the track, click to load and have fun!
keep in mind if you run (or thee already is ran) an ethernet cable between the 2 decks, they can both share 1 drive, you won't need 1 drive on each deck duplicated
Brichi,
thanks for getting back to us buddy. Much appreciated.
Would you recommend downloading RB in order to analyse the tracks fully in order to obtain waveforms, BPM etc? Is there any other benefit from putting the tracks through RB?
Also, you mention above "analyzed through RB and exported". Once there are analyzed through RB can't i just directly drag them onto the USB's or would i actually need to export them?
Thanks.
@RaCs&Lima > There are numerous benefits in using rekordbox, notably the instant waveforms, key analysis, quicker searching and organisation of music, instant BPM loads, ability to prepare and Quantize tracks (ensure beatgrid is correctly aligned), prepare hot cues and memory points on tracks etc.
No, you need to export through the rekordbox settings.
