[CLOSED] CDJ 900 nexus player

Can someone remind me why I spent $2200 per deck on a CDJ 2000 Nexus again?  I really need to be reminded.  I am not angry that they introduced a new deck but I am disappointed that they haven't addressed issues on the so called "Flagship" deck.  Pay top dollar for a flagship model that has no support?

Lesson learned, don't invest in Pioneer "flagship" models.  History has backed this statement. No support and over priced.

I'm inclined to agree here. This strikes me as a massive "f___ you" to those of us who spent a small fortune for the 2000 Nexus. Whilst we're having to deal with players that are buggy and frequently unfit for purpose, and still aren't quite ready for prime time, suddenly we get new players that have all the improved navigation of the 2000s (ie. the reason I bought the things in the first place) with a significantly reduced price tag. I'd have been better off waiting for these... or just buying a competing product.

Talk about utter contempt for your paying customers.

Guys i spend also the same money as you for these decks. Today we got a new firmware that fixes 3 basic issues, so you should check it out. I agree that we need better support but to claim for a new product release is not the right thing to do imo.

(no offense to anyone)

A new firmware release, over two months after a critical bug was introduced, from a company with a history of putting out poor releases that still doesn't understand the term "back out plan". I'll consider upgrading once the update has proven itself to be more stable than 1.13 (which had its own issues, but they were to do with design problems, not show stopping bugs).

The fact that Pioneer finally released a bug fix on the same day these new players were announced doesn't make me feel any less like I've been ripped off. If they'd had their act together a year ago, or even six months ago it would have beeb a rather different story. Or is someone from Pioneer going to offer me to swap out my players and refund me the difference for my trouble? Somehow I seriously doubt it.

I'm with you. Just saying we maybe got a reason to smile with that firmware.

I understand your view but just to clarify my post, just write down the differences between the two decks and then tell me if the extra $1000 is worth it.

When I buy a "flagship" model of a product, I don't expect that after a short time from the release of this item, the lower models get the same features.

If the extra money I paid was for better quality buttons and 3 hot cues and a tilted display, I would have to say that's just ridiculous.  I don't b!tch about new products, I buy them but just to reiterate here, I bought a flagship model and now the little brother, after a very short time period, has adopted most of the key features of my so called "flagship" model.  This IS a big FU@% YOU to me and every DJ that bought this over priced, glorified CDJ 2000NXS.

I would love to hear from a Pioneer rep on this and would like to also ask for contact name and info of someone in this company that I can express my disappointment to.

Yup, i did the same think brichi. I ordered them to my seller 1 hour after the pioneer announcement and i think they was not even priced yet, and he sell them to me at the price of mk1's. (i could regular use them after few months, but thats another story....lol)

you know holding "IN" creates a 4 beat loop right?

Sure, but thats not so fast as in mk1 :) and also, to make a 2 beat loop you have to go to the touch panel, and there it's easy to make a mistake if you hurry. I'm not complain about it, if i play house, there is nothing better than the 2k nexus.

Maybe it's all about a bit more practice or habit.

gotcha! Yeah I got into the habit of hitting loop mode and then I have the options in front of me to loop.

You can get a cdj 2000 nexus from GC delivered to you front step for $1580.. You guys all should know that you never pay retail for dj gear.. Haggle haggle haggle… And knowing someone at GC also helps.. GC will always give you the best price.. WHY? cause the buy the biggest bulk amount so they get the biggest discount.. So don't bother going to your local dj store.. More times the not, they won't be able to compete with GC.

No support? Really?

Either way, the 900nexus is pretty awesome, but it's still no CDJ2000, so you can't compare the two simply based on price.
