[Solved] rekordbox 4.0 LINK with cdj 2000 nexus + djm 900

hello,

i am new at this forum so bare with me.

i have the following set-up

2x pioneer cdj 2000 nexus
1x pioneer djm 900 nexus
connected with a ethernethub

1x laptop macbook pro 13" retina late 2013 yosemite 10.10.5

normally i am only playing my records via SD card ( music is analysed via rekordbox first )

now i want to try to connect my laptop with rekordbox directly with my dj gear so i can use rekordbox as a bigger library/screen.
i have bought a thunderbolt ethernet adapter from apple to get it connected to my ethernethub with the cdi's and djm as the macbook has no ethernetconnection.

unfortunalty there is no LINK button in the rekordboxscreen when everything is properly connected.

firewire is turned off and i also tried it with wifi off. doesn't work

i have tried it with my old windows laptop and it worked directly.

does any body has an idea what i can do?

many thanks for your ideas

Under your Security settings have you enabled "allow incoming connections?" I'm currently using the same setup (LAN via Thunderbolt adapter) without issue. However, I do remember having to allow the incoming connections in my security preference. Also, once you have everything connected go into your OSX Network settings that displays all the currently running networks. There should be a spot indicating ethernet activity. This will allow you to help troubleshoot the problem to see if there's any communication between the hub and the CPU.

Hello, thanks for your reply.
I have disconnected the firewall so the connection should be accepten.

And I must say that the macbook is also rather new for me. I was used to have Windows. But anyway, firewall is down so it should accept every connection.

There are certainly several nuances that make dealing with OSX different from Windows. After a week or two you'll quickly catch on and won't look back.

goodmorning all,

problem is solved.
my thunderbolt connection did not have an ip address. so i activated the help function in mac so the mac created a ip address and the connection LINK was there.

and i also activated the firewall again and let the 4 rules that rekordbox have, have access to my mac.

edb_streamd
psvnfsd
psvlinksysmgr
rekordbox

thanks for your answers guys.

by the way, to give the thunderbolt connection an ip address,
you can find that in system preferences / network / thunderbolt connection
on your mac

pulse?,

i have another question,
i saw in your video "OSX Firewall Configuration for Pioneer Rekordbox" that you also connected your mixer in rekordbox ( the DJM 2000 ) you also had a window in rekordbox where you could enable the mixer.

is that also possible with my djm 900? because when i go to my freferences in rekordbox it doesn't see my mixer.

how can i arrange that?

regards
mario

@Mario > When you link the mixer, you can use the preview cue to the mixer. How did you connect the DJM900 to the computer?

Goodmorning pulse,

I found it. The mixer is connected with ethernet to the hub together with the cdj's.
Now I found a small checkbox on the top page in rekordbox.
Now I can pre listen a record with the cue link on the mixer.

Thanks!
