Some questions after first allnighter with my DDJ-SX & Rekordbox DJ.

Hey guys,

After thoroughly using the new software for an all night long gig yesterdaynight with my DDJ-SX, I have a few questions that probably are easy to solve:

  1. When I load a new track the BPM range automatically switches to WIDE. Is there a possibility to change this?

  2. If I want to cue some point between 2 grids, how do I do this? Or do I just need to adjust the grid to be able to set a cue point between to grid markers?

  3. How do I sort my playlists alphabetically on my macbook?

  4. Is there a way to 'simulate' split cue (like on the older mixers) the way you can do with traktor, by changing the outputs in the settings files? Split cue, meaning for example, hearing the left deck in your left ear and the monitor in your right (mono).

  5. Is there a way to see both time variants on one screen? Time played and time left?

So far it has been a delight to play with this software. I like it way better than Serato atm and when I'm able to solve the above questions, I'll probably make the definitive switch. Great job, Pioneer!

1) Partly a bug.
2) Turn off quantize or adjust the quantize value down from 1 beat.
3) See answers below.
4) No split cue, sorry.
5) No, but this should be included in a future update.

  1. sounds like a bug, not a feature. hopefully its fixed soon for ya
  2. turn off "Q" Quantize, sounds like its on so the cue will snap to the nearest beat or mark
  3. click on the "Track Title" bar up top to sort
  4. not sure, sorry
  5. no, hopefully this is added in the future

As for 3. if you want to sort the order of the playlists,
select the parent folder and then open [Playlist] menu -> select [Sort item].
