Time coding Help

HI guys I currently own an XDJ RX and a traktor s4.
I am moving onto the xdj rx for home use and will be using the cdj's within the clubs I play at.

I am not wanting to use usb's for the clubs im playing in unless I know exactly what music the club wants before hand.

I have a MacBook pro and looking to keep traktor software on my mac, time code my xdj rx at home and also time code the cdj's within the clubs to use to link them all up.

Can you guys suggest a NI interface or the best way to go about the time coding please?

Well, you'll have a bit of a problem using the XDJ-RX for time-code as the decks don't have independent output via the soundcard, so you are unable to send that signal to the software. You could try and configure the MIDI but there are no official TSI files for Traktor and the XDJ-RX, nor is there the ability to send MIDI signal (for LED illumination or screen data) to the controller.

CDJs are your best bet for MIDI or HID mode (if they're any of the newer models with USB connectivity), no NI interface required.

Maybe you could make a stereo timecode signal where there is only the left channel used and one where there is only the right channel used. Then load them to the specific deck and you should have something like a mono signal for each deck on the master output. I do not know if this works, but you could try it.

Ok thanks for your help.

Pulse, my XDJ RX will be for home use - so I can use USB sticks for home.

In a club I will using their equipment (cdj 1000,2000 and 2000 nexus) and will want to time code my MacBook up with traktor. Can you suggest something from traktor that would work?

I have the traktor pro 2 but apparently ive read that wont work with pioneer cdj's I will need Traktor SCRATCH pro. (this is a joke) but that's life.

If I get scratch pro 2 will that be able to connect straight to the 2000/2000 nexus and 1000's or will I need the audio 6?

When used with CDJ1000's, you'd need timecode. If using 2000 or newer models, you could connect via USB for HID control. The mixer, depending on the model, could be used for audio output, negating the need for an NI audio interface.
