Rekordbox - removing USB before ejecting ( data damaged).

Hi,

Recently I took our my USB before ejecting it from rekordbox. It said that some of the data may be damaged. So far I am able to play each track and there is no problem, however, I feel that maybe the sound quality coming out of the data from the USB pulled out has decreased. Is this possible?? I may just be a bit paranoid as I know I pulled that one out

Nope. :-)

Corruption would cause a file to not be played/loaded into a deck. If a corrupted file were able to somehow be loaded, you would probably see truncated (missing) sections within the waveform. If you're worried, you can export again from scratch. That said, so long as nothing was being read from the USB device (example: you were playing music from it during a set) when you removed it, you should be just fine. Cheers.

As @lostnthesound says, you won't have a decrease in audio quality if the file is damaged, the file would either work or not work, in chunks or in whole. Only analog devices would have such affects. ;)

The worst thing that could happen would be for all the data to be damaged and you'd have to reformat and re-export everything. You could do it as a precautionary measure, but it's not guaranteed that damage will be caused simply because you removed the drive before ejecting it, but at the same time, rekordbox might not have fully updated the export database either.
