What did you assign as the input channel (recording) audio source in the rekordbox preferences?
I gave rekordbox dj 4 a shot thinking it would be a good replacement for Serato. However, recording has no input going into the Master Out channel which is the only available channel with this controller. There is no signal and any files recorded are just files with no waveforms. I'm using MacOS 10.11 on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) fully loaded.
I would assume that recording with this controller would be as simple as it was with Serato. Am I missing something? Or is this just an unstable thing in the software currently?

Master Out is the only option available.
That's likely because the SR itself only has two output options and no input option. You'll need to use internal mode or another device in order to record.
It's set on internal. Maybe I didn't clarify that my goal is to use my controller simply as a midi device within Rekordbox DJ and record what is played through Rekordbox (not to an external device). Everything plays just fine through my Yamaha HS-5's, however when recording from within Rekordbox nothing can be seen in the levels on the recording section of the UI and it renders empty wav files.
When I hook up to serato I don't have to do anything special at all. Simply just record and it records. Thanks for the help so far. Maybe this is a problem with the newest version of MacOS?
i have the same problem with win 8.1
a solution would be great. serato dj works fine..
Change the audio device in the AUDIO tab to your controller
