I'm new to Rekordbox 4.0 with an xdj rx coming from using Traktor Pro 2.
I have over 25,000 records spanning 8 decades and lots of genres.
I have started making folders and playlists by genre and decades so I can do a small set of whatever I need at the time at each gig.
If someone comes to me with a song request that I don't know then I'll need to be able to search for it.
Does this mean I'll have to make sure every song I own is in a playlist somewhere on my usb drive?
I guess A-Z by artist type playlists with several 1000 songs in each one would solve this but if I sync these as well as my genre playlists will the files be duplicated on my external usb drive?
Any advice and tips would be appreciated.

The limitation of the XDJ-RX is 10,000 songs per export device, so unfortunately you'll need to pick from your 25,000 song collection to narrow it down.
You can then export the entire 10,000 collection and simply search by that or even have it arranged in various playlists. You can also use categories (like artist, genre, year, BPM, color) to help narrow down the selection.

When I read up on the device it said max 10,000 per playlist.
The main question was if I export playlists with the same track in say 2 of them, will that track be copied to the device both times? For example if I had an a-j playlist and a soul playlist with the same songs in each will they be copied twice and fill up my hard drive?
Would an option be to put my whole collection on my external drive and run rekordbox through that?
