RB 4.0.2 doesnt work at all.

i downloaded 4.0.2 onto my windows 8.1 laptop. installed it fine. but when i open the program i cant load a track. it just freezes and after 4 attempts of force closing the application now it wont even open at all. i get a box saying "Unable to open the database. Trying to use another database backed up automatically"

Hello,

The video driver on your computer may not be the latest one.

Please update your video driver referring to the article "rekordbox closes soon after the application is launched" in the following page.

https://rekordbox.com/en/support/faq.php?c=172

Please make sure to download the driver from the manufacturer's site, not from Windows Update. Windows Update doesn't install the latest one.

just to clarify exactly what is happening now. first, i CAN open RB (it takes a long time to open though, (about 40 seconds). Once open I can load the first song fine, (again it is slow to load). the song will play, pause etc.. The problem is when i try and load a second song, the software hangs and then i need to close it down.
