This is normal. A hot cue makes the program jump to the assigned point. If you pauzed the song, rekordbox will jump to that point but not play it.
Hi there. I'm new to rekordbox, so be patient...
My installed version is 3.3.
I tried to figure this out by myself reading the manual and searching on the Net but I was not able to solve it....
So, Hot Cues. I set some HC (A,B,C) on a track. Can you tell me why when the track is paused/stopped and I hit the HC buttons the track does not start playing. Everything is fine if the track is already in play mode. Is there a preference setting that I should trigger?
Thanks in advance for your support.

OK. Thanks. So, what's the difference between a hot cue and a cue point. They all perform the same.... I even saw some video where, in rekordbox, when the song is stopped and a hot cue is triggered the track start playing... I'm a little confused!
A cue point will pause (if necessary) then cue to the selected point. This is a non-realtime function, obviously. You select the point, then hit play from that point.
Hot cue will (if playing) immediately play from the desired cue point. Say you are rearranging the track, you play a bit from some point, then your hot cue will immediately jump to another area of the track. From an implementation perspective, the device appears to buffer some portion of the track at each of the hot cue positions.
Indeed. The song will play immediately with a hotcue when USING THE CDJ'S.
REKORDBOX, on the other hand is just to PREPARE what you will do with the CDJ's (so do not expect to dj with it without the players)
Thanks everybody.
Well, I'm not going to DJ without the payers, but I was asking myself why in some videos the hot cues behave like I said before and in my setup if the track is stopped the HC performs like a cue point... Anyway I still have this question open but I also think I can live with that.
