Just picked up a DDJ-RX and am loving it except for one problem, when I'm setting up my beat grids the tap function doesn't work all that well.
I found that in traktor the tap function settled onto one bpm and stayed there and it was almost always the correct bpm value. When I am tapping in rekordbox dj the bpm counter never stops jumping around, its always +/- 5bpm. It feels like the tractor bpm function is averaging all your taps whereas the Rekordbox DJ tap function is just averaging the last 5-6 taps.
Is there an option I am missing somewhere, I cant seem to find anything to help fix it. Luckily the analyze track function is nearly 100% accurate but I do find the odd track that cannot be analyzed properly.
The beat tap feature in rekordbox is actually insanely accurate. It seems like Traktor uses more of an "average taps" algorithm. I will mention to the engineering team.
On the tracks that are not being analyzed properly, be sure the proper BPM range is selected and try re-analyzing. If the proper BPM range is indeed selected, try using the Dynamic Track Analysis Mode.
