Noob Question here

Hi!

So now CDJ-400 is supported I have taken the plunge and purchased RBDJ. My question is, is it possible to export tracks to a USB Drive then set all my Grids and Memory Cue's on another Laptop with Rekordbox Export and then sync the changes with my main library?

If so what is the easiest way of doing this?

Thanks in advance!

No, this is not possible.

The best way to do this is to have ALL of your music files and your rekordbox database file on one external hard drive.  You can then prepare your tracks and playlists on any computer and export to a USB stick for playback on CDJs.

Thanks for the reply Mark. I'm kind of reluctant to do this for for 2 reasons, I don't trust the reliability of USB HDD'S. I already have it on an SSD and backing up with Time Machine on my Mac. Also I wouldn't put it past myself to lose siad drive.

The way that I have asked about (exporting to USB then editing and importing just the grid and Cue info), is this actually possible to do.

Even though it's more hassle for me to do it this way this would be my preferred method.

If this isn't possible could I not just export to the iOS App on my iPad/iPhone and do it that way?

I answered my own question last night.

You CAN export to USB and edit on another computer. Just say no when it askes you to sync your tag.

Then you can drag and drop files from the USB and edit them as normal.

Go back to my main PC/Mac and then update collection as you would normally from the USB.

Perfect solution for me. I'll just export a play list a time edit them on any old computer and sync it back when I'm done.

So yes this is very possible.
