Waveform and scroll lag (rekordbox 4.0.8)

I've found rekordbox to be quite laggy and it seems to not be dependent on the computer I use. Take the waveform for example, it is quite laggy even on my PC that has got an Intel Core i7 and a discrete graphics card. Even scrolling to a list isn't smooth! So please fix the overall "lagginess" of rekordbox because I regret buying the RX instead of the SX2!

Rekordbox 4.1.0 was just released. Still happens with the newer version?

Unless something is running in the backgroung, my older i5 and *updated* manufacturer gpu drivers can cope with it even with 4 decks (vertical)

It is still not as smooth as silk but far from quite laggy.

Try adjusting the buffer settings to a larger value.

Hi Tobias,

I was running 4.0.8 on an Asus i7 quad core with 8Gb RAM and NVidia discrete graphics on Windows 10 and it runs well, as above, I wouldn't say it is buttery smooth but there is deffo no laginess or stuttering.

I have found 4.1.0 just to be as stable after giving it a good going over today. How many tracks do you have in your collection. Another thing to note is that even though users may have i7 laptops a lot of manufacturers stick a 5400 RPM hard drive in which is usually the bottleneck - that is why I upgraded my internal drive to a SSD.

Another thing you could try is in settings under View then scroll down to waveform, try setting the Waveform drawing rate to medium if it is currently on Hi.

Hope that helps you...

Regards John

Pulse,

6.5.2 and .3 with an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10870H CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.21 GHz and a Nvidia RTX 3080 8 GB Video Card.

I hope that i am not reaching for perfection but now we are paying for Rekordbox so I thought I would ask.

The waveform has never scrolled smoothly. We all know this and we can blame the Laptop?

I have tried every buffer setting there can be from low to high.

Within the Nvidia setting pannel there are so many configurations, is there a particular config setting or string of settings you would turn off or on?

Its more adjetating then anything else but the player runs and scrools so smoothly, why can't this be added to rekordbox??? Seems easy enough? Or perhaps call a game develowper who is a DJ?

@Philip > It could be a number of things, including graphics driver incompatibility (because clearly, you're not being bottlenecked by hardware on a 3080!)

I'll recommend that you file an inquiry ticket here and our support team can gather some additional details to relay to our engineering team in troubleshooting this issue.

Thanks!
