DDJ SX2 Loud Screeching Noise

- what is your computer's make/model/operating system
- was your computer connected to power or running from battery at the time
- which software were you using (and version number)
- how did you have the SX2 connected (direct / via USB hub)
- have you tried swapping USB cables
- when the sound occurred, did the software continue to play or did it look like it had stopped responding / frozen
- did the SX2 appear to continue to function at that time or did the LEDs go dark or stop responding

Another possibility is the AC power at the club is sketchy and caused a dropout in power to the SX2, thus a glitch with the audio output.

hello i know this is an older post but i had the same thing happen to me........... worked fine at home but when i took it out to a gig, twice and to different events the alarm noise happened to me..... i have a mac, recent update to my serato dj, new usb cord, everything looked like it was working, music was still playing also on the computer.......... power was connected to computer and to the unit itself.

hopefully you have some kind of answer, would really appreciate the help.

Mac Book Pro, OSX Lion 10.7.5   Serato Dj 1.9.8  Connection direct , power cord on computer, power connected to ddj sx2  

everything was working fine, continued to look normal except  for the Alarm Noise....... Hit the FX and it made the Noise again this Saturday in the beginning of the party, so i didn't use the FX after that.

First time it happened was 3 weeks ago at another party. really embarrassing..........

would appreciate help

question how do i check what firmware my ddj sx2 is running?

@Juan > Support for OS X 10.7 was dropped a long time ago by Serato DJ (in v1.7.5) and unfortunately I can't provide assistance for that unsupported operating system & software combination.
