XDJ 1000 Firmware update (2)

Firmware updates are typically for bug fixes and similar issues.  You did not report any bugs or mention why you wanted a firmware update so the topic was closed.

That's right: bug fixes and new  features. But give me at least the time to answer your questions. Not everybody lives in front a computer.

Anyway, I was asking for a firmware upgrade in order to see if some features requested would be included. For example I asked for the abilty to delete HotCue from the XDJ, since I haven't found this feature anywhere. Delete means that if I have three HotCue set and I delete one I'll end with two HotCue not three relocated....

I would like to see the FLAC format supported...

I also think that a lot of people out there would like to see some of their problem fixed and that is why I asked for this new firmware. Not only for my own problem...

Moreover we all know about the new CDJ2000 HW and SW. So maybe some of the new SW features of this beast could be also used in the XDJ1000.

Locking the threads here just because the mods consider there is nothing more to say from their side is little bit arrogant guys.... Please remember that this is a user forum (at least said in the page header) and I see no reason why someone should be silenced just because he asked a question about the firmware update - Alberto didn't raised any support ticket or whatever that could be closed as no fault was found but asked a regular question and every other user should gets his space for telling his opinion no matter what the opinion is....

Moderating the forum in way that noone can talk about any firmware update requests and concerns as its obviously an uncomfortable question will not make such questions vanish and is more than weird moreover that there are tons of answered/resoled posts, not getting locked even there is really nothing more to be said...

My apologies guys. Please allow me to explain a little bit. 

1.  Firmware update release dates and details of the contents of those updates are not released to the public until they are actually available.  This means that even if we knew that all of your requested features were going to be implemented and exactly when that update was going to be made available, we couldn't tell you.  This is company policy.

2.  In regards to the contents of the requested update... The CDJ-2000NXS2 has amazing features that, for some reason, everyone assumes will be added to their CDJ-2000NXS, XDJ-1000, XDJ-700, etc..  This should never be expected, as it doesn't make sense for any company to give their mid-level products the same top-of-the-line features as their flagship products.  You must also keep in mind that the hardware on the different units may not even allow for certain features to be added.  If the XDJ-1000 could do what the CDJ-2000NXS2 could do, nobody would want to buy the CDJ-2000NXS2.  Allow me to provide an example... You can't buy a BMW 1 series and expect the features of the 7 series.  Nor could you purchase a 2015 7 series and, upon the release of the 2017 upgraded model, expect BMW to upgrade your old model with all, or even some, of the features of the newest model.

I closed the thread because I knew it would lead to exactly this.  Asking for a firmware update without and details is counter-productive.  In the future if you have feature suggestions, please post them as such (ie. XDJ-1000 feature suggestions:)  We, as moderators, do not determine which features get implemented and which do not.  All we can do is pass your suggestions and recommendations along to the product team.  

I don't want to discuss about the closed topic action. You do already apolgize. I just live like an abuse of power.....

Mark, I understand what you are saying, but... I asked for what is useful for me. Many other guys asked for upgrade and bugs update from the last FW update. I know that I will not get all the new features that I can find on the new 2000, but please rember that anyway we are speaking of the middle range (for Pioneer, but top of the hit anywhere else) of the CDJ/XDJ production (XDJ 1000). It is not a cheapo CDJ, by the way, if money is all that matter.

So I would expect that in one year of forum posts there will be enough "suggestion" to think about a firmware update. 

Also consider that we, as customers, love to think that our complaints are taken into great consideration by the Producer. If, for any reason, we think/feel that we are left alone, bad things could happen such as leave Pioneer for some other brand. Does this matter?

I hope I clearly exposed my point of view.

I myself had openuch a thread which was meant to simply illicit a little dreaming for us XDJ1000 owners. It did just that and allowed us to imagine, list and discuss what a future firmware update might add/change.

We're not daft enough to think that our words/pleas/irrational nagging will influence anything... BUT... I think we enjoyed the thought and were causing no harm. 

I think most of us lime chatting with like minded pioneer fans/users and like(d) to think of this as a good base/'forum' and community to do this.

Telling us we won't get the features... Yeah, ok - that's just fine.

Saying firmware doesn't bring new features - not true. It happened on DJM-2000 and just on my DJM-900NXS2.

Closing a post because you're not happy with its direction of travel or deem it concluded... Bad form. Not good PR and pretty rude and sadly something I see you do all too often on here.

That's ridiculously inaccurate to compare it this way - in fact we don't want to get a new car features like a new engine or whatever - I'd say that all we want are the up to date maps so both new and old cars reach the same destination....

For a premium cars like the mentioned BMW (if already compared), this is something absolutely obvious to provide such thing like the new maps even for older cars, not having leather seats...
Pioneer marketing is always saying something about the "pro grade" hardware and presenting itself and its products like a premium brand so where is the premium support of all the products and the "new maps"?
We are aware about the role of the forum mods and I doubt that any of the posts ever was targeted against you guys - but we all hope that based on your role, you will possibly bring this to attention of the people who does make the decisions so they realize there are not only nxs2 customers but also the rabble who invested "only" 2k to the pair of players...
