DDJ-SP1 use with other brands

I am currently running Serato DJ with a Rane Sixty-Four and a Pioneer DDJ-SP1 connected. All of the features on the SP1 seem to be working fine. But here's the one issue I'm having. When I fade out of the channel on which I've triggered the effect (i.e. delay or reverb), the effect is killed as well. Is this because the SP1 and mixer are two different brands? Would the effect linger if I was running through a Pioneer mixer? Is there some kind of technical workaround to get it to work more with the Rane mixer?

If the Sixty-Four has post fader FX, this should not happen as the FX are in the software, and therefore should work post-fader regardless of the brand of controller triggering the FX.

That's true. The Sixty-Four DOES have post fader effects. But those only work for the effects triggered ON the mixer. I use the SP-1 in addition to (and I guess to some degree separately from) the Rane. I haven't remapped the SP-1 or anything. I just have it plugged in to the other USB port. If I haven't manually remapped it myself, does THAT make a difference?

I'm not a technician but this seems strange to me.  Unless the effects on the sixty-four are being generated by the mixer itself and NOT actually coming from the software, this would make sense.  Either way, unfortunately, it looks like there is no way around it :(
