CDJ 900 nexus & DJM750 laptop problem

I have just purchased the above. I can't get it to connect to my laptop so I can use virtual dj or a similar program. I have installed drivers (I think) but sound comes out of the laptop and doesn't show as connected to the mixer and can't do anything using the cdj's or mixer. Pretty novice at all this as you can tell. Idiot instructions would be really useful :)

@Jamie > If using Virtual DJ, you need to configure the soundcard(s). VDJ allows you to use multiple devices for your output, so you are able to assign the CDJs as the audio devices, one for each virtual deck within the software. Connect the audio outputs from the CDJs to channel inputs on the mixer and away you go.
