DDJ-SR FX2 Blinking

After searching the internet for about a month, i've decided to post my problem. I bought a pioneer DDJ-SR from guitar center in early January. I used a mixtrack pro before to just try mixing my music, but found that i wanted to try bigger and better things so I bought the ddj-sr. Anyway, i got an amazing two weeks use of it until one night, I fell asleep with the controller at the foot of my bed. Apparently, it fell when I was sleeping, although no cosmetic damage or anything appeared upon first examination. I also have carpeted flooring, so I figured it was fine. I tried to plug it into my macbook for some great mixing and found that Serato, or my mac had no idea I'd even plugged it in. The unit powers on, all of the little lights flicker and all that, then it goes into this dead-state where the FX Assign slot 2 on the right deck blinks red. Looking through the internet, the common solution is to update the firmware so I tried that, but whenever I ran the jar it'd tell me that there was no ddj sr connected... as i stared at my connected ddj-sr. I tried a MIDI monitoring program to see if the ddj was even sending signals to and from my computer, apparently it is not. I've ruled out most software issues, so I'm 99% sure something is wrong with my usb port; however, I would like to know

-- Is this problem repairable?

-- Are there any other solutions?

-- What does the blinking FX2 mean; is it code for something?

Any response from staff is much appreciated.

((Serato is updated, everything's updated, everything.))

@Paul > When updating the firmware, did you follow the instructions properly?

  1. Turn the SR off
  2. Plug it into your computer
  3. While holding down the [SYNC] and [SHIFT] buttons on the LEFT deck simultaneously
  4. Turn the SR on and ensure the level meters LEDs are flashing before releasing the buttons.
  5. Run the jar file

@Paul > Unfortunately, you may have damaged the controller.  You will need to have it serviced.  You can Click here to create an account and start a Factory Repair Request.  Or click here to find a local Pioneer Authorized Service Center.

My FX2 Assign button (2) is flashing as well.  Even when I put the controller into UTILITIES mode, does the same thing.

Did this fix your problem? Was the controller damaged?  I am having the same problem.  Also my computer no longer recognized that it is connected.  It turns on but the pads are on, load buttons, and a few others are on....everything else is not working and will not respond.  Thing is, this controller has only been used 2 or 3 times, and it has never been moved....seems unlikely that it would be damaged.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Go to device manager in Windows control panal, find usb bus drop down tab, find usb composite device... Mine has a little yellow triangle on it and it only showed when I turned on the controller that was expieriencing the same problems, ants I disabled it, then reenabled it. It then prompted me to restart my computer I did and now it works perfectly fine! Sorry about the mis spellings, hope it works!

This just happened to me now.. I was playing perfectly fine on v2. 0.1.
Then updated to v2. 3.0. All of a sudden fx2 was winking at me..
I really hope it's a bug that can be fixed Soon..

@Rudi > The blinking FX2 indicates a bad USB data connection; please try using a different USB cable or a different USB port on your computer. If that fails, it's possibly an issue on the SR's mainboard, in which case please contact a Pioneer DJ authorized service centre in your region to have your hardware inspected and/or repaired.
