Hi pioneer, is it not possible to record digital audio through dvs? i understand if i whack a normal vinyl on there it will record but im trying to record audio playing from the software,
If i turn dvs off and use the ddj rx on its own it will record.
have i missed something?

It won't let me change the recording source from master out. It's greyed out
Am I right in thinking that because dvs is using both sound cards that it's not possible for recording to work? Getting a bit depressed with issues and performance issues. It's currently hooked up to a desktop PC but want to buy an i7 6700hq laptop but I don't wanna spend a load of money if it's not going to work properly. When will rekordbox dj get a proper performance update?
No, it should certainly pass that through. I'll get mine setup and see if I can figure out what's going on.
it goes to 2in2out. says ddj is disconnected as well but all works fine excpet sound colour fx acts like its a stand alone mixer
Okay, so here's what you need to do -- connect the turntables to the phono inputs (CH1 & CH3) and make sure your channel selector switch on the front of the DDJ-RX is set to PC. In rekordbox, enable the DVS and go to the Preferences > Audio page and check these items are set correctly:
Provided you're not listening to the timecode on the input of the RX, you should be controlling the DVS and thus recording the audio and not timecode!
That's strange. Mine is set up exactly like that and it's still only recording the time code signal. Will have to try and make a partition and have a separate os to run rekordbox I think. Maybe other audio drivers are clashing
I'll report back if I find a workaround so other users can diagnose this problem. Thanks for your help
I'll give it a test on my PC tomorrow, I had my Mac setup so it was easy to test the basics but there may be something else at play in Windows causing your issue.
I'm not getting an exact match on your screen shot. In the audio column I've got ddj_rx asio and not ddj-rx 2in2out? Is that because your on Mac?
Might be a daft question but I have rp8000's which aren't earthed. Whatever decks you have can you try ungrounding them and see if that makes a difference
Not that -- I'm trying the same thing now on my PC running the timecode from a CDJ on a WAV file and oddly enough, I can see that the recording is capturing the timecode signal whereas on the Mac, it records the master audio, even though both are setup the same way. This could simply be a difference in the way the audio systems work due to the drivers. I've sent our rekordbox team a ticket to see why this might be happening.
