I need help??????

Which controller on which operating system?

Ddj- rm I tried to update the firm ware followed the instructions but when installing the update it always says Controller not plugged in??  And now when plugging the controller in  it's always says usb not recognized ..I have  two computers a window 7 Pentium 2 g hrtz laptop which on record box I get application error every time??  The controller did work until the update on the laptop ....I also have window 8 i7 32 gig which I have got record box working on but when I plug the controller in to the USB it's says not recognized?????  I am now thinking I may have flashed the firm ware on the controller????? 

There's no DDJ-RM, so I'm guessing you've typo'd DDJ-RB?

What "update" are you referring to? rekordbox 4.2?

yeah is the DDJ-RM i have finally done it after downloading and installing the drivers and firmware 3 times along with going through the uninstall the drivers 3 times and on the last on it took ...Controller came back to life and i was able to update the firmware and now it all runs ;-))  the computer that it does work on is my i7 32 gig which is now working fine although the laptop which is 2/2.5 ghz with only 8 gig of ram it runs on a 100%cpu with drop outs and crashes all the time .....looks like i will have to upgrade the laptop as soon as ....What i would say is with a 200 quid controller recordbaox should  come with a upgrade your laptop as this just wont work ..most entry level dj that will be buying this controller for  record box will find this very confusing??  I am a experienced dj/engineer and i have found this a nightmare on a normal laptop.....Then again when you do have it all insatll and working on a computer that can handle it  it is very good ..the controller is cool the fades and knobs feel good and the pads can be a lot of fun enjoy Record box one you have analyzed the tracks which can take a while but  once done they all ready to play out on the nexus 2 which is wehn recaod box comes into its own so do  Perceiver installing it on a big computer and you will enjoy ...thanks for the help ;-))))
