What task was being performed when you recorded these Activity Monitor results? In other words, was the program idle or were you scanning music files? If so, how many were in the cue? What kind of HDD in in your Mac?
Is it just me or does rekordbox 4.1 cause my macbook pro fans to kick in (loudly) & laptop run hotter than normal? I might be a little nervous about setting cue points, analyzing files, organizing songs without being plugged in. Activity monitor says the following:

@lostinthesound : The program is Idle. Which is what caused the concern initially. SSD 1TB HD -
Vendor: Apple
Product: SSD Controller
Physical Interconnect: PCI
Link Width: x4
Link Speed: 5.0 GT/s
Description: AHCI Version 1.30 Supported
After about 5-10 minutes laptop fans are now off/or running so quietly that I can't hear them. Gonna play with the app some more and try setting cue points/ playback etc. I analyzed 66,000 files for about 24 hours straight recently. But since then I've closed & reopened the program (which takes quite a bit longer now that the rekordbox collection is massively larger. Trying to commit to the program completely :) )
That's a shitload of music. :) Strange though, it should open fast after having created the analysis files for the songs in the library...and since it's an SSD. Did you try changing the GPU settings in Rekordbox?
Thanks for the extra info and, to be honest, I'm not too sure why is would be running so hot just for performing simple tasks like adding cue points and whatnot. Out of curiosity, when you have it hooked up to your DJ rig does it still run hot?
Unfortunately, this seems like normal RB behavior.
When I first started RB, I had 10 tracks (all analyzed) and even sitting idle my macbook fans would start up and my mac ran extremely HOT. I'm not sure what it is doing, but it acts like I'm rendering a 1080p video project.
... So you're not alone. Luckily Pioneer / Pulse / the engineering team all know about this, so fingers crossed, they're working on this.

Serato has an Mac optimization guide for OS X. I've done everything in the guide except disabling the sudden motion sensor, and rekordbox dj runs without any issues on my MBP 15" Mid 2014. Maybe it helps?

I hope pioneer fixes the high CPU usage and high temp soon . I did all optimization possible and still using 60 to 78 % CPU usage .I asked Apple for advice and they told me to ask pioneer smh.I have not had a crash knock on wood and my dropout meter is low but I'm still worried .
Same problem here, Macbookpro11,1 2.4GHz.
I don't mind when rekordbox eats up 100% CPU load during track analysis, but it's NOT acceptable for constant load in 70-80% of CPU time during idle state or playback.
Currently, that's what holding me from purchasing rekordbox dj.
I took 4 hours of full cpu usage to analyse 2 Tb of music now it runs, loads, samples with minimal usage.

Rekordbox while playing
5% Cpu usage

I've noticed these issues too. I have a pretty high-end MBP (16GB RAM, GT750M) and Rekordbox DJ makes the machine run WORRYINGLY hot.
