Have to ask if you have updated the firmware not knowing what version you are running.
Just purchased a new DDJ SX2. I really like the layout of the controller but i have been having issues with the platters as many others have been having. When I put my hand on the platters to stop the track, it seems to stutter as if it wants to keep spinning. This really sucks if trying to scratch as the the track will continuously jump. Oddly enough, if i place my hand on the jog wheel then to the metal casing it works fine. If i turn off the speaker, it works fine. If i touch the laptop it seems to work fine. From every thing I have seen online it seems to be a grounding issue with the controller. Well if i touch the platter and then any other connected to ground the platter seems to work fine. Just wondering but has there been a fix for this yet. I don't want to start wearing a ground strap just so i can play on the controller. I have tried it on both serato and virtual dj with the same issue happening on both.

Hi Jay,
Thanks for responding. The original model i picked up was v1.06. The current i have now is also on the lastest firmware. v1.06. Seems that when i touch the ground connection or the laptop everything is fine. I have read that the platters utilize a capacitive touch feature. Is it the surface capacitive touch or the projective capacitive touch. I have seen where some individuals that have used the surface capacitive touch have had issues probably because they have "zombie fingers". I don't believe i have zombie fingers but i do believe everyone emits different electrical signals. So my question now is that if i wear a grounding strap and ground myself, How would that affect me and the capacitive touch sensor from platters. The idea of current runnig through me does not sound good at all.
also if you could clarify the what is meant in the instruction booklet about the grounding issue in the troubleshooting section. Then my last question is would it not be better to have a three prong plug vs a two prong plug?
These issues could be due to environment of use. Have you tried using the unit on a different surface? In a different room? In a different building? Using a different power cable?
