You need rekordbox DJ and connected via HID.
Getting very confused here, hope someone can help...
I have 2 CDJ2000NXS2 and 1 DJM2000NXS.
CDJs are connected via LAN and digital audio to the DJM, the DJM is connected via LAN to my MAC.
When using export mode I click link and the desck/mixer appear at the bottom of the screen. so far so good.
When I switch to performance mode, the decks are no longer controlled by rekordbox, is this correct or am i missing something?
I was under the impression performance mode was there to be used when you done prepping and sorting playlists out... switch to it and use the CDJs and rekordbox to perform.
Thank you in advance

Really? So i need both LAN and USB connections to run performance mode of Rekordbox?
And a paid copy of rekordbox DJ.
Already have that. Seems a massive inconvenience and lots of wires just to use rekordbox performance mode.
My main interest on it (thats why i want to use rekordbox on the mac instead of using USB drives) is the sampler.
It is overkill on the wires. I had same issue when I wanted to control Traktor with my CDJs a couple years ago.
LAN cables for using CDJs, mixer and rekordbox.
USB cables for using CDJs with Traktor.
I only use rekordbox now.
If I ever did use rekordbox DJ it would be just for the sampler like yourself.
Hoping the DJM 2000NXS2 will incorporate one :)
I have used traktor for a few years, and if it wasnt for the stem direction hey were taking, i would have stayed with it.
Do basically these are my choices?
1: use rekordbox in export mode with just LAN cables but lose out on the sampler
2: use rekordbox in performance mode but need to connect with USB as well as LAN to gain the sampler feature
Correct. Don't ya just love cables!
lol not really... perhaps going back to using a controller is the way forward :/
Thanks for the help though, much appreciated.
if your using performance mode to DJ all the time then theres no reason to ever use Ethernet cables, ethernet cables are only for using export mode to play off of "IF" you don't own the performance plugin. Personally i don't get why anyone would get expensive NXS2's to just control performance mode when a much cheaper RZ controller does more in that area but i guess thats just my opinion
No I agree, I was going for a controller then was offered these so thought why not. I really want to use the sampler built into rekordbox by mapping it to the midi on the DJM2000 Nexus. So HID is the only way I can do this, unless I flog this lot and get a controller.
so then don't run the ethernet at all, not needed
If it wasnt for the sampler use for the DJM2000nexus, I would prefer to use the LAN connection way.
Fingers crossed RB gets updated with the capabilities of using the midi mode using LAN.
