Dear Pioneer,
When I'm using DVS, I would also like to use the effects and loops for this I can use Relative mode instead of Absolute mode, but there is no beginning of Vinyl recognition. So if I cue in my record from the beginning of the track and put the needle back to the beginning of my record the track starts off where it left off, so relative mode works fine but if I want to cue the track again I have to load a hot cue or if there is no hot cue yet I need to reload the track and make a hot cue that I can use to get back to the start of the track. In Traktor (sorry to keep bringing this software up) the software recognizes the start of the record and brings the track back to the beginning so I can cue it up again and again. (also In relative mode)
Using the hot cue's is a workaround but has a downside, if I'm using the hot cue allot the record eventually runs out, that would be no problem normally but as soon as it is on the end of the record the software switches the mode back to internal so DVS is disabled for the playing track and making adjustments to the platter of the record player has no effect anymore.
So my request to this augment, is can pioneer program this just like Traktor or disable the (switch to internal option at the end of the reckord). I think this would be no problem sins there is a end of track recognition already.
I have a lot more requests for the software to help Pioneer out make Rekordbox the best out there (just like the hardware) but you also need time and i understand there is a big market pressure, so I wil do my requests one at the time and look for the fixes in upcomming releases.

I had a chat with the support team about this issue already. They said that they are thinking of adding "needle drop" to relative mode in future. I'm waiting for this as well.
Just purchased Rekordbox DJ, purchased the DVS pack and the RMX effects. Spent a lot of money between all 3 things and I can't believe that needle dropping in relative mode is not implemented with vinyl timecode. I want to switch from Serato because I just dropped a pretty penny on a DJM-NXS2. Please get this working, it would make me definitely do the big switch.
I've just moved to RB and come across this exact same problem.. it's not even a feature request it's a bug... needle drop in absolute but not in relative? really??
I've had my DJM-450 a week and it's already going on eBay, back to Traktor I go.
I love in Traktor you can hit a button (sync, cue, whatever) and it will automatically switch to relative mode... In RB I was shocked to see all buttons disabled until you manually switch... then you're stuck in this mode until you manually switch back, in Traktor you can set it to switch to absolute on lead in... such a seamless workflow I guess I just expected to work in RB.

Wow Almost one year later still no Needle Drop, My GOD !!
But Pioneer is selling the new DJM-450 with DVS License, while DVS is not finished for only 700 EUro's.

I got My DDJ-SX2 (Serato) 100% working witch Traktor scratch pro (Timecode DVS) a Dream come true. If you are interested Then I can tell you how I did it. You can give it a try on your DJM-450
You need Traktor version 2.8.0 - 2.8.1 and some registry files.
