Two new issues last night with DDJ-RR

Hi 

Encountered two brand new issues with my DDJ-RR last night!

The first one;

Left deck only, whenever I set a new hot cue on the pads between 1 & 7 the 8th would light up. It did this on every song all night.

The second one;

Left deck again, stopped playing completely and no buttons worked. Tried several different tracks but all they would do was load into the deck and then start playing backwards really slowly of their own accord.

Had to restart the software to solve both issues - I assume they are linked as both on the left deck!

Laptop Specs:

Macbook Pro Retina 13" Mid 2014, 2.8ghz i5, 8gb RAM running El Capitan 10.11.5 and the latest version of Rekordbox (the c one with the popup message)

Controller was plugged into the mains as well.

I have videos of both of these issues but not sure how I send them across?

Any time you experience issues with any computer peripheral, you should take the following steps before posting on forums or reaching out to tech support.

  1. Restart your computer
  2. Check to ensure you're using the latest firmware version
  3. Be sure to have proper drivers installed (if necessary)
  4. Try a different USB cable
  5. Try a different USB port

Because these will be the things we instruct you to do.  If none of these solve your issues, we can move forward and further investigate what maybe causing the issues.

Yes thanks Mark i'm not a complete idiot!

I have the latest firmware, I changed the cable and port on the night and it was fine however the issues returned the following day.

I would just like the software to be useable - Rekordbox would not function at all with my controller on Sunday and I had to reluctantly switch to using Virtual DJ 8.2 which luckily now supports my DDJ-RR and amazingly worked without any problems with any USB lead in any USB port!!

@Ian > Try resetting the MIDI controls to default - there may be a hiccup with the mapping; open rekordbox, connect the RR, click the MIDI button (top right) then click the DEFAULT button on the MIDI window. See if that helps.

I'll give that a try if it happens again but i've used it for 3 gigs since and it's been ok. Maybe just a random occurrence!

Check the USB port / cable you're using as well, that could be part of the problem.
