I have an external hard drive with many different folders (which when imported each folder will be a playlist). Is there any way of importing all playlists in one go rather than having to do it all at once. Also, I imported my whole library before, unplugged the hard drive and the unplugged. When plugging the hard drive back in Rekordbox was unable to find all of the tracks that I had imported from this hard drive. Hence I had to delete all the playlists and will have to import them again.
Is there anything I may have done wrong or can do for this not to happen again.

You can check your back up for the first import to the hard drive. As to the easiest method for the second importing, you can do all at once or drag folders in as a new playlist so your not remaking them. Yes going from a mother program to Rekordbox does have some work in it, but worth.
You can also look into Rekord Buddy and see where he is with 2.0 which will move Serato into Rekordbox. 1.0 moves Traktor.

How can I check my backup from my previous import to see if the tracks/playlists are there. If they are how do I restore them?
have you backed up your library under library in the preferences in Rekordbox? Also when you couldn't see the tracks last time, did you try to restore library.
The secret of Rekordbox is keeping things constant and located in either an internal drive or an external drive, whichever you use have the master database live there as well.
I did not create a backup as bring a newbee to Rekordbox I was under the assumption it did this automatically. When I plugged the hard drive in. The playlists and the tracks where still in Rekordbox but it was unable to find any of the tracks from any of the playlists.
The hard drive is a 1tb and is full so I doubt I will be able to fit the back up on there.
Although I have deleted the playlists. All tracks still remain in the database view in Rekordbox however it states that it is unable to locate any of them.
