Those players are awesome and very durable but like anything else there might be an issue with the CD laser or other gear that is causing the read issue. You can return it to the seller or if it's a good enough deal, get it fixed and keep them.
Hi! I am SUPER new to this. I just picked up these two used CDJ-1000 MK3's from the same person. One of them seems to work perfectly fine. The other one did too, until I had this problem..
I put a cd in. It didn't load. I could never play a song from that cd (I later tried the same cd with the other deck, and it loaded the songs normally). I thought the cd was faulty, so I pressed "eject." It said "ejecting" but no cd came out. I turned off the unit and turned it back on(always works right?) and I was able to immediately eject the cd.
Now, it does seem that this unit does play some CDs fine. Some not.
What should I make of this? Is it time to get my money back for that one at least? Is it something to be very concerned about?

Thanks for the information. I am trying to contact the seller, but he seems to be dodging my calls right now. If it comes to it, I might have to try to repair it and eat the cost.
So, I've been trying to find information about the problem AND trying to find a place to get it repaired. I haven't had any luck. On pioneer's site, there are no repair centers shown in my vicinity. What kinds of places can do these repairs? Any recommendations? Also, if you or anyone can give me more information about what this problem is, I would appreciate it.
More information - the cds it DOES read seem to have a stall sometimes on playback. It's like a 2 or 3 second pause before the song starts playing normally again. I don't mind so much practicing in my room, but it would be terrible during a set. Thanks again!
