Rekordbox 3 & 4 mac problems

Hi guys.

So yeah, pretty pissed off at the moment. 
Currently using a macbook from mid 2012 running El Capitan and I have had nothing but trouble with rekordbox 3 and 4.2.

Rekordbox 3:
Just crashes all the time. When I use the spacebar to pause or stop, when I analyze a certain track or just completely random.

Rekordbox 4: Opened once, clicked on a track to analyze it, crashed, haven't been able to open it since. Well.. It says it's open, but it just doesn't show up on my screen.

So yeah, currently both 3 and 4 are still on my macbook, but both won't work. I have a gig in about 2 hours, and new music won't be a thing I guess.. So thanks for that.

Inb4 "have you tried deleting it and installing it again", because yes, dozens of times and it hasn't fixed anything. 

Any fixes or at least a solid build Pioneer? Because I'm getting kind of tired of this stuff. Or at least give us users the option to use previous builds that we're working.

On a Mac repairing permissions can do wonders. Apple removed it from Disk Utility in El Capitan but you can do it manually in Terminal:

sudo /usr/libexec/repair_packages --repair --standard-pkgs --volume /

You can also try periodic maintenance, but that's more unlikely to cause problems:

sudo periodic daily weekly monthly

 

If this doesn't help, try to uninstall Rekordbox with a program that finds all files connected to it, for example App Cleaner https://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/

Then download a fresh copy of Rekordbox and install, 4.2.2 is stable.

Also, it's possible to save a copy of Rekordbox prior to upgrading to a new version.

Follow the directions here. While this applies to Logic X, you can use it for any app. It's also a good idea to create a Time Machine Backup anytime you're going to upgrade the OS or even a new version of a program.
