[Solved] DDJ-RX firmware won't update (and I've tried everything!)

I keep getting the message that I don't have the latest firmware in my DDJ-RX and I need to update it.

I have followed the instructions in the PDF exactly, and it's not working.

I have created a BAT file as suggested here, and that didn't work either.

I downloaded JAR_Runner as suggested here, and got nothing.

One thing that strikes me as strange: The instructions tell you to unzip the file, but they never tell you where to place the unzipped file, and they never tell you to run the file. Is the DDJ-RX supposed to magically find the file, wherever it may be, when I start it with the Shift-Sync buttons pressed?

The above question aside, I have tried running the file after the master level LEDs are flashing. Got nothing. Tried running it before turning it on and got an error message that my controller was not connected. Turned it on and still got nothing.

I am running Windows 10, and I have the latest version of Java installed.

I really need help with this urgently, because my DDJ-RX is intermittently not responding at all, leaving me unable to DJ parties.

Did you run the FW update with Administrator Privilegs? Try *right click* RUN AS ....

Try Uninstall your version of Java and Reinstall the Offline version of java (install booth x64 and the x86 version of Java)

On windows 10 make sure your OS Updates are full installed and non of that Requires  a Windows restart.

Also check your System Devices for Driver updates (do it again if your already does... some Manufactures like ASUS ore HP got older driver packets on there web site...Try out 3DP-Chip  <- but this tool is not really free from scrap ware so do a Scan with ADWCleaner just to make sure your OS is Safe after using 3DP Chip.
(... i prefer the tool to get only the basic Drivers eg. Chipset, Video, Audio, and USB - Note : Never try to update your Bios with programs such like that kind, always use the Manufacture Tools to do that otherwise it will fail)

Unzip : if you unzip the files with explorer (rightclick the *.zip -> unzip all  .....) windows asks you for the extraction path, otherwise somthing is wrong here.
I Prefer 7zip to manage compressed files.
If something get wrong during the de-compression procedure (stopping with CRC errors ore it tells you that the Checksum is bad)
you should check your Hardware components from a computer professional near your location cause some of that (Ram, Mainboard, Powersupply...) could work wrong.
Can  you do the FW Update with a other PC ?

i hope that helps you out a bit.

Thank you so much! Using a different laptop did the trick.

FYI, I have seen other people suggest running as administrator, but this did not come up as an option on either laptop, since it's a .jar file and not .exe.
