You DO NOT have to enter "record mode" to record hot cues on the XDJ-1000mk2.
Pioneer dj official youtube under the comments section of the new xdj 1000 mk2 preview has a comment mentioning if the new mk2 is able to create a hot cue just by pressing a empty slot? Also if there is an 8/16/32 beat jump feature. The pioneer dj replied back stating yes there would be a 8/16/32 option. If so that is major. Something a lot of djs including myself who was one of the first to ask it on here when the nxs2 came out. Could any official pioneer mod confirm this? I know the repsonse came from pioneer dj but want to make sure.

THE RESPONSE was to me and the dev completely got it wrong, its 1 bar jump on the nxs2 and 4 bar jump the xdj mk1 and mk2. not good enough is it
also the hot cues are the same non intuitive way as before only the nxs2 has the traktor style true ho cue system.
for me the xdj1000 are just to much of a ball ake to use in reality.
I knew the 8/16/32 beat jump was a shot in the dark because I have been trying to push for the nxs2 to get an update for more than 1 beat jump. That would have been awesome though, I know we purchase gear that is not promised any extra functionality updates in the future but it would be great to get a surprise update in the next few weeks with more beat jump options on the xdj and cdj line.
@Pulse anyway you could fight for getting an update on the xdj 1000 mk2 to create a hot cue just by pressing an empty slot vs having to press the rec button which is something I never got used to. I own the xdj 1000 after selling my nxs2 and that really was my main complaint since I love to create hot cues on the fly, especially now that the new version will have 8 hot cues instead of 3.
@Mark Gallo oh good! thanks for letting us know, that is big plus for me. What do you think is the possibility for the engineers to add more beat jump options I know it may be a stretch but maybe they would consider, could you check when you get a chance.
what about the 8/16/32 beatjump ?
I don't see that happening anytime soon at least till maybe the next gen of products. Sad thing is Denon came out with features on their new upcoming cdj and mixer that I have pushed pioneer to do since 2012. Like the cdj allowing to analyze tracks on the unit itself. Pioneer hopefully steps up next year and lowers their price while still giving more functionality to there products.
good news guys!
finally 8 & 16 beatjump has been added on 1.3 firmware update!
you will have access to 8&16 beatjump by using sp1 & xp1 (not available on xdj1000mk2)
