For me one of the most frustrating bug in Rekordbox is not a bug, apparently it's a CDJ feature. So if your looking for a solution there is non,
I quess this would be a feature request if you want this to work like you expect when you are coming from other DJ's software. BE WARNED!!!.
If this "real quantize" feature is not coming in de future Rekordbox might not be suited for you, to me it's not because it is not logical to push a button at a random moment out of beat and I can not see any use in this CDJ Feature because this messes up the beat count. Disabling quantize is not an option for me as well.
I hope this helps all you quys and girls to decide whether to buy or sell your Rekordbox DJ enabled Hardware.

The Quantize feature of rekordbox is different from other DJ applications.
If you press the Hot Cue button even a little later than the on beat position when you call a Hot Cue with Quantize on, the Hot Cue will be set at one beat after the position you wanted to set.
This specification of Quantize works like this for a long time in CDJ series and rekordbox dj has the same way of Quantize as CDJ series.
We understand that many customers who are used to the Quantize specification of other DJ application thought it a bug. However, it is as expected instead of a bug.
If you do not want this Quantize affected Hot Cue feature, please disable Quantize when you use a Hot Cue.

I am agree with you.
I use the xdj-rx with quantize on only on the track where the grid is ok, but i don't use the hot cue, i use only play and cue, and the mix is always ok.
Quantize + hotcue are not compatible, for me.
Coming from Traktor I also think that Rekordbox Quantize behaviour is just crap...
There should be an option in the settings at least:
CDJ/WTF are you thinking Pioneer- mode (default)
SMART mode
Same as with the Gate Option for Hot Cues everybody could choose then.
I understand that they won't change it because they don't want to confuse their long time users
But an option for new users would be great
Oh dear sweet Jesus I was wondering why sometimes I would get to an epic transition, hit a cue button, and destroy my mix because it would be put out by a beat. This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard... isn't the point of quantize to correct tiny imperfections, i.e. hitting the cue button a tiny bit early or a tiny bit late??? Come on, Pioneer!!!
This is the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. Reminds me of Steve Jobs saying you're holding the phone wrong.
Quantize in Serato and Traktor round up or round down to the nearest beat. This is the way it should work.
Not a huge deal when performing Deck 1 --> Deck 2 ---> Deck 1 ---- > Deck 2 all night
But any sort of live remixing can get trainwrecked if you hit a hot cue 0.000001 seconds too late. Yes, you can blame it on the booth latency, or club sound system latency, or your headphones not being loud enough, but in the end, it should be able to round down or round up, like every other software.
Worse still, is the inconsistency. For example, if a deck is stopped and you hit a hot cue, it will round down (expected behavior). But, if a deck is playing and you hit a hot cue on time or slightly late, then it won't round down and you've got your awesome transition one whole beat late. there goes your epic drop :(
Seems to not affect Pioneer's big festival DJs that have pre-recorded sets, but for anyone else doing things more creative than just being a jukebox, it is a big issue.
Strange decision from Pioneer with the quantize thing, its stupid actually,
Exchanged my DDJ-RX for a DDJ-SX2 and Serato is perfect, I can even use it witch Tracktor2 Pro Scratch and Virtual DJ8 (if I want too) and maybe I give Recordbox a try Next YEAR if it's finished, but for now I can finally enjoy the software instead of testing Rekordbox DJ, because YES we are testing for Pioneer that's what it is. plain and simple, well I'm done testing and paying for software that is not finished.

Whats the deal in implementing both and letting the user to choose in setup, what way it should work?
Obviously the current implementation doesn't suite everyone so Pioneer rather should consider implementing it instead of explaining users they should be happy with that... really not getting the point here...- its nothing but few lines of code and paying 130$ for an application, one would expect its more flexible....
Can anyone with a CDJ confirm that quantize and hotcues work like this? I just can't fathom how anyone would deliberately want it this way.
If this is already standard CDJ behaviour then I wonder how many CDJ users after a fix would suddenly go "holy crap, this hotcue thing works now!" and how many would curse it: "I really LIKED being off a beat if I hit it too late!"

I certainly can't, but I would like to know as well, it just doesn't add up, also because I needed to wait one month before I got this response If this is a known issue (feature) then why did the response take so long.
Almost looks like they were also not sure if it is or is not a bug :-DD
