usb / network connection

I was informed that I could use a Ethernet to USB adapter to link my laptop to the xdj-rx. I have tried this and cannot seem to get it to work.

I don't seem to get a link button,

I can connect the rx with normal usb cable and us e as a mini

Also when I go to select the rx driver in preferences - audio, it says there is an error when it tries load the driver.

Any ideas?

If you want to connect the XDJ-RX to your computer to use rekordbox DJ (with the RX as a controller), you need to connect via USB.

If you want to connect the XDJ-RX to your computer to use rekordbox LINK (with rekordbox simply acting as a source for files; think a hard drive with a screen), you need to connect via ethernet. You can use a USB-to-ethernet adapter on your computer if you have a computer without an ethernet port, but if it the LINK button doesn't appear, it could be due to your networking, firewall, or security settings. Please see this article for tips and troubleshooting ideas.

Hi Thanks,

When I plug in the usb cable into my laptop it pops up saying that it doesn't recognise the device, is this normal when converting Ethernet to usb.

I have tried to turn off the firewall but I will have another play today and let you know.

@Andy > What "device" are you connecting? Is it a USB-to-Ethernet adapter? Did you install the drivers from the device's manufacturer?

Yes I did after I reliesed I needed a driver. So I unplugged it and installed the drivers. Restarted pc and it still pops up saying the same. Tried different USB port as well.
I could video it and upload it to you tube if that helps

I've now tried another laptop with no ethernet port again. Does the same thing. USB driver error. Asio driver error in preferences. No link button on recordbox. Fresh install of recordbox. Restarted, install driver. Plugged in USB with the ethernet adapter on. Plugged into pro link port on RX. Still the same issue.
I need to get a fix for this as I'm working Saturday evening and I would like to access the database on recordbox.

Firewall was disabled and wifi disabled.

Any other help please guys. Urgent now

The driver would be from pioneer website for the xdj-rx
