Kick drums sound distorted when changing BPM of a track

Just how the title states. For example, lets say i have a track that is 138 and i have another that is one 132. When i move the BPM from 132 to 138 the kick drum sound changes and sounds like its a little out of sync even if it is perfect. For some reason it changes the sound of the kick. This does not happen when the 2 tracks have the same original BPM. This also happens when lowering the BPM as well to match another track. It makes the mix sound like shit to be honest. I wish Pioneer would fix all these issues. This NEVER happened when i had the XDJ-Aero which is a much cheaper unit than the XDJ-RX which i currently use.

When you use master tempo, it has to process the audio. It's not distorting, it's being processed. If you don't need it, disable master tempo.

And also to add that not only does the kick drum sound distorted, every other kick sounds like its out of sync even if it is synced perfectly.

Hi, i have a similiar problem with rekordboxdj. I wrote this issue some months ago. Here it is :

Hi Pulse, thanks for your answer. But normaly i use HID mode mostly. I mean, there is a audible difference on my setup with the soundquality when i use HID in performance mode. Or link in export mode(usb stick analyzed in rekordbox, )or cd. When i mix 2 tracks together with the mastertempo engaged on the players (hardware mastertempo processing) it sounds perfect while mixing. But in performance hid mode with mastertempo engaged on the software, 2 tracks together, it sounds , that it is tiny offbeat... not exactly pitcht together. maybe its a difference in the processing. Kind regards

This issue makes my mixes sound like shit. The kicks sound distorted. Its like not even convenient to be able to move BPM's up and down because it changes the quality of the track. I wish pioneer would fix this along with SYNC button not beat matching tracks even if the beat grids are set perfectly. Rekorbox is garbage

@Miguel > Are you using it with the Master Tempo on or off?

@pulse, master tempo is on. I have sent samples via email so they can forward to engineers. Basically when changing the bpm from a track whether it be up or down, it changes the sound of the kick and the quality sound of the track as well. When lets say theres a track at 138 and the other one is originally at 132 then moved to 138, when playing the tracks together the tracks sound of of sync every other kick and the sound of the kick changes a lot as well. You can test this out yourself and hear it.

I dont think its the software, it seems to be the unit itself. When i turn off the master tempo button the issue goes away. Pulse hasnt chimed in again on this issue and pioneer hasnt responded to my emails. Great customer service.

Hi, Its definitely not the unit, because if i use usb stick or export link mode it works fine. Its only in performance mode when the software prcessing the mastertempo. I test it without the players, just by push the play buttens and sync. Without mastertempo it sounds fine, but with mastertempo on, there is the issue.
