Laptop with cdj1000 MK3

Will my laptop connect and work with these CDJs on Rekordbox, if not is there alternative software that will work with them?

Cheers

Yes and no... CDJ-1000MK3's don't have USB connections so they can't be used for HID or MIDI control of any software, but what you CAN do is connect them through a mixer such as a DJM-900NXS which has the ability to input timecode from your CDJs. What you would do is purchase rekordbox dj and the DVS plus-pack, then download the timecode wave file, burn it to CD and use that to manipulate playback in the software.

Hello,

I have the same question. I am relatively new to this, and I just got a pair of CDJ 100 mk3s with a djm400 mixer and I'm curious on how to hook it up to play with my laptop. I've read that one way to do it is to purchase a serato sl2 interface and run that out of the mixer into your laptop with use with serato DJ, and then to put the discs in the CDJs. However, would the way stated above be possible as well? If I already have rekordbox dj, would I just need to purchase rekordbox DVS plus-pack, and then download the timecode wave file and burn it to a cd? Then insert the CDs into the CDJs and I'll be able to run rekordbox on my laptop and have all functionality on the mixer and CDJs? I know the question is long and kind of vague but thank you!!

@Ryan > Yes; as described above, you'd need to use an SL box or other audio interface as the in/out for the rekordbox dvs timecode from your CDJ-1000MK3's.

Will this process work with the original sl1 box?
