Mapping Rekordbox to Numark Mixtrack Pro 2

Hello,

I started mapping my Numark Mixtrack Pro II...and it's been going pretty smoothly, except a couple of important issues:

- the crossfader action is reversed (fade to the left on the Mixtrack...and the crossfader in the software fades to the right...and, of course, the inverse happens in Rekordbox when moving the Mixtrack's crossfader to the right).

- the tempo adjustment action is also inverted (increase the tempo on the Mixtrack with each channel's tempo/bpm fader...and the tempo in the software decreases.  The inverse, of course, happens when decreasing the tempo with the fader...the software will increase the tempo).

Have you tried the people at Numark for this issue?  I can't really speak to the midi mapping of other companies software since I don't have it or know what the numbers/triggers/responses are for the mapping.  They should be able to help you with this on their site, if not let us know...

Hello,

I just got my response from Numark yesterday night:

"Hello, Thank you for contacting us.

We have no information on mapping the software. Any custom mapping will need to be taken care of by the third party software manufacturer.

Thank you for the opportunity to help. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

That response was something I might've expected given that Numark does not manage the Rekordbox software.

One idea/suggestion I have is to include a "reverse" checkbox in Rekordbox for each parameter that gets mapped.

Traktor has this option, and basically the "reverse" option inverts the way the control parameter behaves.  So if you turn a knob left, it goes right.  Turn a fader up, it goes down.

Or in this case, to fix the issue of a crossfader moving in the opposite direction, the "reverse" option could be checked to have it move in the direction consistent with the controller.

Just an idea, but still...the way Rekordbox currently sees the crossfader movement of the Mixtrack Pro II...it moves in the opposite direction, which isn't good given the crossfader is quite an important control.

I really want to purchase a license to start DJing with Rekordbox 100% of the time and not use Traktor, but my control surface has to work well with Rekordbox.

Or, at least a feature as essential as the crossfader shouldn't be malfunctioning.

Thanks very much for you assistance; please help to sort this out.

Hola, Disculpen, Como Puedo Conectar Mi Numark Mix Track Pro 2 Ya Que La Detecta En El Software En El Apartado De Midi Pero No Hace Ninguna Funcion Y El Controlador Queda Como Si No Estuviese Conectado A Ningun Software

@Cristian > You need to have either a subscription or hardware unlock device to enable MIDI mapping, and from there you can configure your MixTrack Pro 2 for anything except the jog functions. We don't provide a mapping for it so you'll have to create your own by using the learn function.
