Here is my situation,
I have a
macbook pro(2012)
i7 processor
16gb of ram
using the latest version of rekordbox dj and graphic card is integrated. The issue is that rekordbox dj would crash maybe about 3 to 4 times while I am performing, it is quite embarrassing, I have no other choice because I am using DDJ-RZX, I am mostly using it for video dj, oh by the way video quality is set to low settings. but it will still crash. I even set all the recommended settings to low, including latency and waveform.
So I decided to invest some money and purchase a heavy duty laptop, in which i paid $2500, I never had to this with serato dj.
This time I bought a windows laptop,
6th generation i7 processor
quadcore processor
16gb ram
nvidia gtx 960M 2gb
latest version of rekordbox dj 4.2.2
I was so confident that it would not crash,oh by the way the rekordbox dj is the only thing running, using 20% processor and about 40% memory, but I was lying to myself, the software froze on me yesterday while doing a live set and also audio would appear to freeze where everyone would hear that it is about cut off and then it will come back again. I was so angry last night. After all the money I have put into this software, it is yet to perform properly. It is really frustrating, I almost threw my laptop to ground. This software is stupid, I am sure the moderator will send a stupid respond by stating i should send an inquiry, which is like avoiding the situation without an answer. Please fix THIS software or make ddj-rzx compatible with serato dj.
sorry for grammar error, i got so frustrated writing this post.

You are not alone. I'm in the same boat. They throw these things into the market as quickly as possible with so many features as possible to gain the upper hand towards the competetition.
Personally I have tried RBDJ 4.2.2 and RZX on 3 different windows platforms all from Windows 7 to 10. The more back in versions you go the worse it gets.
PC-wise I have tried from I7 and up to server grade octacore intels with loads of ram.
The problem was USB 2.0 related and most of the issues vanished by going to USB 3.0.
BUT (!) a wide bandwidth between the pc and controller does not solve the other issues with the software and the controller.
There are so many bugs I wouldn't even start by listing them cause they span from ridiculous but annoying things, to catastrophical stability issues.
The problems go very deep unfortunately cause not only one system can work without the other, and many issues are related to the extremely buggy RBDJ software, but also these problems escalate and multiply when taking into consideration Windows fairly new code in version 10.
Today I spent 6 hours trying to get DVS to work. The whole thing is so buggy that it won't even let me calibrate the TT. DVS won't load in RBDJ.
How in the world is someone expecting to use this system professionally ? Currently, there is no way you could.
I agree that the concept is future oriented, but folks this system is not ready to leave the lab yet. Without releasing new software/firmware and hotfixes a few times per month will leave lots of people frustrated.
If I were a pro, I would buy CDJ+DJM and just use RB to prep the files to USB in Export mode. If you want you can get a separate module for RMX stuff. All in all it will cost the same if you don't have to buy a new PC, but at least you get a system that works today!
It is so ridiculous, of course I get a generic response from Mark Gallo, why don't you guys start responding to message for a change, what is the point of a forum. I decided to test it again at home before I go for a gig tonight, and boom another problem.... every once in a while i hear a loud noise. It is quite annoying, an hour later software shutdown, and everyone once in a while I will loose the the rzx display. by the way ddj-rzx is already updated to 1.05
I'm merely a forum moderator. If I don't have the ability to answer your question and/or solve your problem, and in this case, I do not, all I can do is point you in the right direction. Filing a support inquiry puts you in direct contact with the customer support team who will relay your issues directly to the engineers/developers and try to provide a solution for you.
Been using RekordBox for a year now and it is water torture. Did a gig a few nights ago for a friend on an ancient DJM800 with 2 x CDJ900s and I felt like a wizard because everything worked, no latency and no crashes
