Try a different USB cable and/or a different USB port on your computer. In most cases, this will solve the issue.
Hi, I recently bought a DDJ-Sb2 a few months back and all was good for the first month or two and after that i was having problems with the Play/Pause button freezing and not working, It would light up on serato that the button has been pressed but no change in the sound, song would still be frozen! It usually happens after pressing Hot Cues or Scratching, And other times happens out of no where during a song is playing, im only having the problem with the left deck and ive updated the everything to see if that was the problem but noting changed. I cant rely on the controller for a gig incase it happens so can you give me some advice, Asap! Thanks

Just tried a different cable in a new USB slot and same problem, I've tried my decks on a friends laptop and problem was still there too, he also has a SB2 and has the same problem but not as much as I do
?
this seems to be a common issue as multiple people are having this problem and while the SB2 isn't one of the flagship models it is a new model that has replaced the original SB so obviously it's a popular model nevertheless.. pioneer needs to get to the bottom of this issue with this SERATO controller.
The jog wheel will freeze and the deck won't respond to the play button either but if you use the mouse to move the waveform in serato DJ the deck will play again but will FREEZE/STOP as soon as you touch the jog wheel.
Hello I am having the same issue. In my case the right deck play button becomes un-responsive. I have tried different USB ports and USB cables and still the same issue occurs.
Note the issue happens - right deck becomes un-responsive on both my MacBook and my Windows based PC.
Help please!!
Setup:
MacOS Sierra
Serato DJ
DDJ SB2
Windows 10 - Tested on my HP Computer
@Onair > I count only a few on the forums, of many more sold. So far, these issues seem pretty isolated so we're not ready to say anything is "defective."
Should you continue to have these issues, please contact technical support in your region for further assistance.
A suggestion from Serato Support was to use a powered USB HuB. I tested it and it seems to solve my problem. I practiced for about an 2 hours with the powered hub and did not experience the left deck not responding.
I messed with the jog wheel during the session just to see if that would cause an issue and it did not. So for the time being looks like the hub solved my problem with the left deck not responding.
I have same issue and i know many people who has the same problem with their DDJ-SB2, it should not be treated as a isolated issue. Pioneer needs to provide with a solution to this issue
If you have already tried replacing the USB cable, updating the firmware and drivers, tried a different USB port or computer to ensure the DDJ-SB2 is receiving adequate power, and you STILL have the problem, please contact Pioneer DJ technical support in your region for assistance.
