Did you use the FIND to locate it or did you browse to it?
All my files have been deleted since I bought a new computer
and since, I cannot relocate my files from my HDD.
normally I would click relocate, and would search for the file on my HDD and would be able to click on that specific file. but the name of the file is in light grey and I am unable to select it. whats up with that?
What am I supposed to do? It's driving me crazy

I use a Mac air. I click on the missing file and click "relocate" and i search in the box that pops up instead of browse. Because if I browse it takes forever to find the file. I am able to relocate if I browse but im frustrated that I cant search and select because the file is in grey when i search it and cannot click on it!
Yeah, that's a glitch with the finder - what you need to do is select the file and "quick-view" (press the spacebar), this will allow that result to be selected.
