rb 4.2.4 missing cover art on CDJ 2000 NXS

Since I updated recently to 4.2.4 the cover art is missing on many tracks when I open them in the CDJs.

The cover arts are all present and shown correctly within rekordbox on the computer.

Until I used 4.1.1 everything was fine and all the covers showed up on the CDJ.

The cover arts that are not shown on the CDJs are the older ones that come from the iTunes library.

I stopped using iTunes probably about one year ago, since then I just put my music files into folders and then import them into rb and manage them from there. However my older music is still in the iTunes structure/folders. I don't use itunes anymore, no activity was done in itunes on those tracks by me since more than 1 year.

For all the tracks that are in the new folders and not in itunes the cover is shown correctly on the CDJs.

Configuration is iMac with os x 10.10, rb 4.2.4, usb sticks and CDJs 2000 nexus.

Also it might be worth noting that I just bought new USB sticks when I updated to 4.2.4 and loaded them freshly with the 4.2.4 library, no 4.1.1 activity on those sticks.

Any ideas or suggestions? Is it a bug? Workarounds?

Did you re-export after the 4.2.4 update?

Were you using the iTunes sync at all?

After updating to 4.2.4 I added a few new tracks and reorganized a couple of playlists then I exported my music to two brand new usb sticks.

To export to the new sticks I used the sync manager: selected my stuff then clicked the big arrow (the right side from rb to the USB).

I've not used itunes sync at all.

I checked again with a USB drive that I used with 4.1.1 and realized that the problem was there already, it's not related strictly to 4.2.4.

Also I checked carefully and discovered that not all the iTunes track are missing the cover on the CDJs. It seems that the older they are (older = imported more time ago) the less likely they have a cover (tho even on the oldest tracks there are some covers), then going forward in time there are more and more covers shown on the CDJs.

I tried to format a stick and load it again with the music but there's no difference, same tracks are missing the cover on the cdj as in the other stick

Something interesting that I found recently: the pictures are not showing only in the list of tracks in the CDJ but when I push the Info button I can see the picture in the detailed info on the CDJ's display.

Maybe a bug with the CDJ's firmware rather than a rekordbox problem?

I updated the cdjs firmware to 1.40 a few days ago but it had no effect on this issue

I've created a ticket with our hardware team to see if they have any ideas. If I need additional information, I'll let you know.

@Julia > I'm going to include you on the ticket as the engineers need you to send over the problematic file(s); you can find the link within the user-menu drop-down or clicking here: My Activities.
