Pioneer Ddj Sr Audio Problem

Hello,

I purchased a Ddj Sr at the start of 2015, however of late it has been acting up, whenever i am playing music , the audio all of a sudden goes off or mutes unexpectedly , it occurs in such away that it seems like the master is being reduced then increased within the controller itself. sometimes it takes a minute or two before the sound struggles to return. sometimes the sound remains very low even when i crank up the master to maximum. Sometimes even after restarting the software unplugging and plugging the unit back in the sound still remains off. When this occurs the volumes meters keep showing that there is sound being played however there is no output. I use the original USB, i have used almost all versions of serato from 1.7.5 to 1.9.3 however the problem persists. I have also tried four different laptops with different kinds of processors, including a mac book but still the problem persists. I need a solution, the hardware failure is becoming quite unbearable.

First step would be to try a different USB cable.

I am having the same issue. Sent mine in for repair and after when i got it back as soon as i tested it out, i got the same issue. Can someone please offer a solution for this?

@Kristina > Did the repair shop say what they did in terms of repairs?

I would guess that the issue was possibly the SR being used without the DC power adapter and the computer not providing adequate power over the USB bus to the controller.

@Pulse - the repair shop said they replaced the faders which isn't what what caused the issues I've been having. I was able to isolate the problem after some troubleshooting and it seems like the issue is being triggered by the FX section of the controller. I only get the audio freezing when I activate my FX such as echo. I've yet to return it to the repair center because it took them two weeks the first time to "fix" and I dj almost every weekend with it. Is there a solution for the FX bar that I can do at home to get the issue to stop?

@Pulse - I'm having the exact same problem. I had the controller for about a year working fine. The audio volume was fading in and out when I was using it. Now the volume is extremely low (outputting to both the headphones and the master out). I've replaced the usb cable, used other computers, and updated the version of Serato, but the problem still remains.

@Adrian > Here are some of the questions the engineers asked @Kristina in the ticket, please try these and provide an answer for me:

1. Please enable and disable FX on Serato DJ using a mouse to see if the issue occurs from DDJ-SR Master output.

1-1. If the issue occurs, the issue may be related with the computer or Serato DJ.
1-2. If the issue does not occur, the issue is not related with the computer.
Please replace the USB ports and cables.

If the issue continues even after changing the USB port and cable, please check which output causes this issue.

2. Enable and disable the Serato DJ FX using the knob on DDJ-SR.
Do you have the same issue both from the Headphone CUE and Master on DDJ-SR?

2-1. If the issue occurred both from CUE and MASTER, it may be a hardware issue on DDJ-SR. Please send the unit to the service center for servicing.
2-2. If the issue occurs only from MASTER, the root cause may be in the computer or Serato DJ.
