DJ with external drive connected to player not thru computer on rekordbox

I would like to be able to use my 2tb external drive which is formatted in fat32 to dj on my xdj 700 and be able to search for songs with the bpm and all other analyzed data available WITHOUT having drive connected to computer and using prolink to computer. I would like everything to just work off of the external drive. I have no desire to put music on my internal or use my computer in my dj setup. I have several thousand tracks on the drive and would like to not have to make multiple drives to do this. I am coming from another brand of media players and I could keep the database on the external drive, update it with new songs with bpm and search info included on the drive and just plug into the player and search with no problem. Please instruct me if this is possible in anyway. Thank you.

Yes, absolutely.

BUT!

If you use the same drive as your source and export, it will require double the space for whatever music you export.

Personally, I keep all my music on one external drive, and use a second drive as my rekordbox export drive (with database on it). This allows me to use my main music drive when working with rekordbox, and the export drive when working with players, without having a doubling-up of the used space.
