rekordbox and cdj 2000nsx2

From what I understand, you need RB4 in order to use the NXS2 decks–RB4 enables you to use multiple Hot Cues, colored wave forms, etc. In addition, RB4 is really no different from RB3, it's actually much better.

Whomever told you there's limited USB correction is incorrect. I use a 256 GB SDD and have a 64GB USB flash drive with no problems.

Not sure  of what your asking, but on both of the CDJ 2000neus & CDJ 2000NXS2

I have use a 3 Terabyte USB Hard drive as well as a 1 Terabyte SSD, and if your talking about a USB thumb drives I have used a 256GB & a 512GB thumb drives.

Rekordbox 3 & 4 will show the waveforms in the CDj's only if you had rekordbox analize

your tracks, but if your seeing them, then you already know this.

I hope this helps you out some, go ahead and use a bigger thumb drive

(if that is what your asking) I have never heard of any limited use with usb thumb drives or even usb ssd's as long as your drives are in fat32 format..

That is great news!  I have a gig coming up next week that has CDJ 2000NXS2 players used.  I perform with CDJ 2000NXS players, and have not had a chance to demo the Nexus2 CD players.  I also use three different hard drives ranging in size from 1 TB to 3TB alll linked together.  I didn't want to get to the event and find out that there was any issues with Rekordbox 3 and the CDJ Nexus2 players.

I just reread lostnthesound's post.  Sounds like I will need to purchase the rekordbox 4 download.  Will it automatically transfer my old playlists?

Actually, Rekordbox is free. Rekordbox DJ is the one you have to pay for. For what you need, sounds like the standard Rekordbox will work for you.

I can't recall how to import playlists off the top of my head, but I can give you pointers on insuring all your music imports properly while preserving beatgrids and whatnot:

1. Select all the tracks within your collection.
2. Right Click, and select Lock to lock the analysis info.
3. Backup Rekordbox Collection–not the music, just the data (you'll be prompted).
4. Download RB4. 
5. Once it's installed, open and choose Restore Rekordbox Collection.
6. And you're done...but...
7. If you want to view colored waveforms, you'll need to select the option to Update Analysis Data.

You may have to export your playlists from RB3 and import them again in RB4. I honestly can't remember because its been awhile since I upgraded–I would double check with the (very detailed, helpful) Rekordbox manual.

RB 4 is free, reads from the same database file all other versions have so your collection and playlists will be fine

for the nexus2 though once you install 4, you should go into RB, select all our tracks, right click and have it get "missing data" that way the scrolling wave shows up like it should on the NXS2, then re-export to the USB drives

I use 500GB drives so there is no 32gb limit
