So, sat down the other night to sort out a load of new music for a new night I have starting in a couple of weeks. Update to the newest version of Rekordbox, all good.
Only once I have sorted through my new stuff and I'm prepping actual mixes as opposed to play/set lists, do I discover there is no longer a master key function available in the player(s).
Weird, I think, they must have moved, not removed, it. There must be 100s of 1000s of DJs who DJ from USBs/SDs and initially prep mixes on their computers before things are anywhere near their decks.
However, after some time investigating it seems I am wrong and that the master tempo now only exists in the performance (PAID) mode of rekordbox (something I have no need of and am unlikely to ever have any need of).
What possible justification is there for still allowing me to preview (albeit very roughly) mixes using the 2 player mode so that I can properly prepare my tracks before ever even loading them onto a player - but removing one of the key functions (pun intended) required in the process?
So, Pioneer, can you please explain to me why I now need to pay for a function that has existed since 2008 with the software that came with my (then) very, very expensive hardware? I paid for this function already, why are you trying to force me to pay for it again?
I admit, this is perhaps not earth-shattering for many people, but it is a real pain in the neck to my workflow.
