Using trial version to just mix internally, but keeps crashing...

Sorry if this isn't the correct forum, I couldn't find another post with the exact circumstances/symptoms. also I filed a ticket but I'm getting nowhere with the support staff there, they take 5 days to reply and then reply with useless scripted responses, ignoring my messages. I am hoping to get some help here or at least if someone knows a phone number I can use, or a live chat? I was going to buy a ddj-rb but now I'm afraid to buy it since I'm not sure it'll even work.

I'm using a Lenovo x201 windows 7 pro 64 bit, meets the min requirements. Also I'm using the 5.2.1 version now, and it did the same thing on 5.1.1

I can open it fine, load tunes into collection, they analyze fine. I can also load one tune into deck one and it seems to usually work ok, not always, but if it doesn't crash it invariably does once I have two tracks playing at once. One thing - I had to choose a driver even though I wasn't planning to use any controller, so I chose the ddj-rb driver. Pardon if this is obtuse but do you think that would cause problems like this? The one useful thing the agent did say, was about the video card/adapter needing an update, but I was unable to complete that, as my computer told me it did not meet the requirements to install the latest update. I just need help figuring out what the problem is before I can decide whether to get the controller or not. Thanks for any help or suggestions. All the basic stuff in the FAQ I have tried. Also, I watched the CPU usage when it crashed and it doesn't seem to be maxing out. The error is "unexpected application error" and the software closes immediately and creates a crash log dump file. @colin > The red flags for me are "meets the minimum requirements" and "Windows 7." The model you note, the Lenovo X201, was released 8 years ago. While the specs may get over the minimum bar to run the software, that's no guarantee it will run well.

And your comment about "the video card/adapter needing an update, but I was unable to complete that, as my computer told me it did not meet the requirements to install the latest update" solidifies my suspicion that it's likely that your computer doesn't have the latest Microsoft Windows updates, which wouldn't really help much considering mainstream support for Win7 ended in January 2015.

I'd recommend trying with a better computer, or, if you're trying to squeeze as much as you can out of that one, disable as many background tasks and services as you can, update everything possible (including that graphics card driver), and see just what it will do.

**I meant to say the agent said to try the video card/adapter and make sure I had the most current update. She didn't say for sure that it was the problem or that doing so would fix it, in case that was unclear. thx
