I see topics going back to 2011 about how Rekordbox doesn't read or write the Key/InitialKey tag in M4A files. While that seems easy to implement, my issue is actually that when you analyze the key of an M4A file in Rekordbox, and then use Reload Tag, the Key field becomes empty again.
Since Rekordbox doesn't read this tag, it should retain the information that's stored in the Rekordbox database, instead of deleting data willy-nilly.

Awesome, the video helped a lot. After trying different tags in kid3 it looks like Rekordbox reads the "KEY" tag (all uppercase), while Traktor writes the "initialkey" tag (all lowercase). So I'll just make sure to write both tags to my M4A files. Thanks!
Yeah, those small subtle differences can be what prevents one application from reading the data!
Since you talk about key's and Traktor I kind of assume that Mixed in Key is your analyzation software of choice. If so, have a look at this little tool, it even enables MiK to set keys on WAV files in Rekordbox.
