SD Card or USB? Some advice please!

Im after some advice, please!

I’m currently using 32gb Samsung PRO micro SD cards in Kingston adaptors. I’ve used the for around 3 years with no issues what so ever!

In now need to upgrade to 64gb, will the XDJ RX2 be able to read 64gb micro SD cards or do in need to go for USB’s?

If I need to go to USB’s, what do you recommend?

Thank in advance... 🎶

Because the unit itself isn't reading from the SD, it's mounted in a USB adapter, it detects those as USB devices and can therefore read any capacity card you choose to use.

Personally, I'd opt for a USB drive as they're less expensive for a larger capacity drive capable of faster read/write speeds, all in package less likely to get lost!

Thank you, what 64gb USB would you recommend?

The only two makes / models I recommend are the SanDisk Extreme Pro USB3.1 and the Corsair Voyager GTX.

I use HyperX Savage 256 GB USB 3.1/3.0 drives and find it super fast for large files but quite slow for Rekordbox export which involves thousands of small files too.

I wonder if this is just the nature of small file sync or does anyone have any comparison between any of the drives mentioned here?

DO NOT use the HyperX drive! It has an abysmally slow small-file transfer speed, and rekordbox uses a couple of small files per track to store waveform and cue point data.

For large, single files, that drive flies -- but for use with rekordbox, I do not recommend it.

I bought the SanDisk Extreme Pro USB 3.1, it’s incredible!!! 30gb of music transferred from Rekordbox via a USB 2 port in less than 5 minutes...

Thank you for your help x

I looked at both models on Amazon, Pulse. Both have crappy feedback /reviews. I was hoping this would be easy lol
