XDJ 1000 mk2 and WD HDD my passport

Hello!! I have been reading all topics and comments about the "problem" of connection between Western Digital - My Passport HDD and XDJ 1000mk2 and 2000 nexus.... Any updates on if possible or what config / format / way to use this HDD with the mentioned equipment? PULSE or anyone there!! thanks a lot!

FAT32 with Master Boot Record -- and a good quality cable. The WD Passports were more of a problem with older CDJs and we haven't had as many reports of problems with them with more recent generations of those drives. Hopefully your experience is trouble-free!

thanks in advance for the fastest response ever! but WD My Passport comes with only one USB cable and specific connector on drive. XDJ´s are up to date and drive was on FAT32. will do everything again to see if problem´s gone. but so far not working.

It could be it's not getting enough power to the drive for spin-up; you may need to get a Y-cable to provide additional power from another USB source.

Yeah, even if the normal operating current is under the 2.1A provided, the spin-up draw could be more ... but if you're saying the drive tells you to format the drive, it's possible that drive either has the wrong partition type (it's formatted exFAT or NTFS), or there are multiple partitions on the drive and it can't read the first one for whatever reason (sometimes a hidden security partition).
