XDJ RX link Rekordbox does not play tracks from specific drive

Hi

Hope you can help. I am messing with this for 3 days now,

What happens is that the link works but xdj rx wont play the tracks. The scratch pad keeps flashing white and the big wave image never shows.(only the small wave in the left/right bottom corner)

Installed a fresh windows installed sound driver vga driver rb 3.3.0 and 5.2.2 only, Disabled firewall, added udp tcp ports 2049, 50001, 50002,50004,50111 to the firewall just to be sure. And the 4 executables.

All tracks are stored on HD drive X.

I found that the pre-installed RB samples sine, siren and 2 others are being played back on the RX.

To test i copied over some tracks from X to the D drive. And added the to the RB playlist. This time the RX is playing the tracks without any problems.

For years i use the XR and RB 3.3.0 with the mp3 tracks on drive X but now they are not being played by the XR. The tracks can be seen and selected, Only not played.

I thought it would be a problem with access rights on X. I compared them with drive D finding that the access rights are exactly the same. I also did a scandisk on X resulting in 0 errors. Its weird. I can play the tracks from drive X within RB but not from the XR.

Anyone has an idea why drive X suddenly is not liked by the XR anymore?

thank you for your time!

Do you possibly have any networking or sharing functions enabled on that drive which may be causing a conflict?

Hi Pulse,

No sharing functions enabled.

I got it to work. What i did,

I resetted al owners rights and access rights to drive X.

Drive > properties > security advanced > Change rights > checkbox > all acces bla bla and OK.

Then i compared in the computer management (compmgmt.msc) > disk management the difference between D and X.. I saw that D is  an Active partition and X not. So right mouse click on the X drive and set partition as active.

Reboot and done. All tracks could be played by the RX from drive X again.

The RX behaviour is different when firewall blocking. On the RX In the section loading will appear the small waveform. and the scratch pads flashing white. With firewall issues you only see the loading. text.

Aha - yes, I didn't think that was an issue as you never mentioned it, but rekordbox can only read from the FIRST partition of any drive. If you deactivated the D partition and made the X active, it would read as the primary and thus be recognized properly within rekordbox.

Glad you got that figured out!
